Sometimes it is good when reading a book that we sift through to discern what we are reading. We don't always have to agree. When I think of the Ephod that the priest wore, and the responsibility that lay on their shoulders it reminds me of our high priest Jesus Christ. I believe that God does give us the responsibility to pray for others and at times deep intercession.
But ultimately he says that Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, Hebrews 8:1 NASB1995 When we pray we are called to remember Jesus and when he looks at us he sees his son. Jesus is our high priest, so therefore when we pray we unload our burdens to him who is able to carry them. His shoulders are bigger than ours. The priests responsibility under the old covenant was heavy, but we are of the New Covenant. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
